Todd Potter entered the 2011 X Games as the Moto X Best Whip favorite after winning the event three times in a row.
However, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg had something to say about Potter being the favorite. The winner of Moto X Best Whip is determined by a fan vote and Twitch came through by a hair to knock off Potter.
For those that aren’t aware of how the Best Whip works, it is a 10-minute competition where the six finalists attempt to pull off the most acrobatic whip they can during the period.
It was surprising to see Twitch come away with the victory but it was well deserved as he put together some terrific whips.

Rumors about the Tuatara supercar designed by Shelby Supercars are unconfirmed, but some reports are citing the new model as being able to reach a roaring 275 mph, TG Daily reported Monday.
The previous record-holder for the world’s fastest car was the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, clocking in at a top speed of 268 mph. Before that, another SSC supercar held the title, with the Ultimate Aero reaching speeds of 257 mph.
Now, the American manufacturer is set to reclaim the title with a supercar based on an entirely new design. According to SSC, this is what makes the Tuatara such a unique development.
“Most manufacturers essentially use the same basic model and body shape for up to 10 years, while only making small refinements to it each year,” said SSC founder Jerod Shelby. “After only three years in production with the Ultimate Aero, SSC’s Tuatara is about to monumentally evolve in the areas of sophistication, design, aerodynamics and sheer all-around performance.”
Motor Authority reports SSC’s name for Tuatara was inspired by the Maori word for a lizard native to New Zealand. The Tuatara lizard has the fastest evolving DNA in the world, Motor Authority said.
According to TG Daily, some of the new features of the Tuatara include carbon fiber wheels, a seven-speed manual transition and a 7.0 liter V-8 engine with 1,350 horsepower.

“Captain Planet” is back! But the eco-friendly superhero won’t be showing up in an animated reboot of the original ’90s cartoon. Instead, Cartoon Network and “Transformers” producer Don Murphy and partner Susan Montford’s Angry Filmworks are teaming together with “Transformers” producer to make a live action film about the environmentalist hero.
“The messages of Captain Planet are even more relevant today,” said Stuart Snyder, president and COO of Turner Broadcasting System Inc.’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media division, in a press release. “We feel this team can bring the world’s first eco-hero to life in a powerful motion picture that is not only pertinent but entertaining.”
Murphy and Montford also expressed their appreciation of the project in the press release.
“[Captain Planet’s] adventures are known worldwide and he is recognized across generations,” said Murphy. “We expect to make a spectacular series of films with the amazing team at Cartoon Network.”
“With the earthquakes, tornadoes, melting icebergs and all the other problems threatening the world right now, Earth really needs her greatest defender,” added Montford.
The press release did not say when the movie is expected to be released.

Last week was a big one for Blink-182 … and their fans. Not only did theband debut “Up All Night,” their first new song in almost eight years, but they revealed the title of their much-anticipated new album, too:Neighborhoods.
Of course, while all of this was happening, Blink bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus was e-mailing MTV News, first to express his excitement about the new music, and then to reveal just how “Up All Night” went from being a rehearsal favorite to Blink’s official comeback single.
And now he’s at it again, this time talking about the inspiration behind the album’s title. As is the case with everything involving Blink these days, it seems the Neighborhoods name owes much to the long road Blink have taken since going on indefinite hiatus back in 2005.
“As Blink-182 reformed, we came to realize that, as close as Travis [Barker], Tom [DeLonge] and I are, we are all very different people. With very different tastes. Travis just released a hip-hop album, Tom always talks about U2, Coldplay and the Police, and I listen to obscure indie rock stuff,” Hoppus wrote. “We each bring a very different aesthetic, talent and sound to the band. And in the differences between our ideas, the struggle and edge of all the different directions, is where the good things happen when we write together.
“So we’re each like different neighborhoods in a city. Everybody in the world thinks of something unique unto themselves when they hear the word ‘Neighborhoods,’ ” he continued. “To some it is a big city, others a small town, others suburbia, everything. The world is wide, exciting and very different. That’s what Neighborhoods means to me.”
Blink-182 will return to the road alongside My Chemical Romance on the 2011 Honda Civic Tour, which kicks off August 5 in Holmdel, New Jersey.Neighborhoods is tentatively due in stores on September 27.
